NFL Boycott Will Continue Until Anthem is ‘Properly Honored Again’

News Release: NFL Boycott Will Continue Until Anthem Is ‘Properly Honored Again’

Hanover, Penn., Sept. 27, 2017:  Fans in the bleachers are irked by the politicization of football. In fact, Americans are pledging to boycott the National Football League (NFL) in large numbers, as long as its athletes continue to disrespect our nation’s symbols and Anthem.

“Respect for the flag is a duty, not an option,” said John Horvat II, vice-president of the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP).

“The NFL is turning its back on America and bending its knee to political correctness,” Horvat said. “Respect for the National Anthem transcends petty politics. And every true American should stand with legitimate pride to honor the symbols of our beloved nation.”

Horvat launched an online boycott of the NFL on Sept. 25 and was surprised to pick up 35,206 names in less than a week, exceeding his goal of 35,000. Those who signed the pledge promise to “Boycott NFL football until order is restored on the field and players again honor our national anthem in the traditional manner.”

“By allowing players to disrespect the National Anthem, the NFL is insulting every American who cherishes and honors tradition,” Horvat stated. “For now the NFL may enjoy financial success, but it has lost its reputation and honor. America’s honor is not for sale. Because honor is a virtue that money can’t buy. It is earned with sacrifice.”

“Thank God, outrage is growing, fans are tuning out, and ratings are dropping,” Horvat continued. “Our boycott will continue until the flag and anthem are properly honored again.”

What Does Saint Thomas Say About Immigration?

The boycott is taking on curious and unique expressions. For example, some restaurant owners are refusing to show football on their screens. Borio’s in upstate New York issued this statement:

“Due to the recent decision of the Pittsburg Stealers (sic) team to stay in the locker room during our country’s National Anthem the Borio family will no longer show the NFL in our restaurant. If and when this show of disrespect ends we will be happy to show this product on (sic) our restaurant again. America is great we can all make decisions!”

I’ve already made up my mind I won’t be attending any games this year or watching them on TV for that matter. I’ve also gotten rid of the DirectTV NFL package. Why waste my money on a bunch of spoiled, bigoted prima donnas who hate people like me for being white and conservative? As far as I’m concerned they can all go play in North Korea.

  • Michael O’Brien

NFL, you are fired! I have no time for man/childs playing a game that cannot respect their country enough to stand for our national anthem. Those players and coaches enjoy the fruits of veterans guaranteeing their freedom and right to live in this country, they should show some respect for our country. I also have stopped watch their games and will not purchase any NFL memorabilia. I am a veteran, US Navy 68-72.

Kids are starving across the planet and these spoiled brats think they have the option to thumb their noses at America. Well, this all started with Saul Alinsky a long time ago and it has been gaining steam. Read this:

    Beware the Useful Idiots
    by Garret Geer

Recall that Hillary did her college thesis on his writings and Obama writes about him in his books.

Saul Alinsky died about 43 years ago, but his writings influenced those in political control of our nation today.

Died June 12, 1972, Carmel-by-the-Sea, CA. Education: University of Chicago. Spouse: Irene Alinsky. Books: Rules for Radicals, Reveille for Radicals

Anyone out there think that this stuff isn’t happening today in the U.S.?

All eight rules are currently in play.

How to create a social state by Saul Alinsky:

There are eight levels of control that must be obtained before you are able to create a social state. The first is the most important.

Healthcare – Control healthcare and you control the people.
Poverty – Increase the Poverty level as high as possible; poor people are easier to control and will no fight back if you are providing everything for them to live.
Debt – Increase the debt to an unsustainable level. That way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more poverty.
Gun Control – Remove the ability to defend themselves from the government. That way you are able to create a police state.
Welfare – Take control ov every aspect of their lives (Food, Housing and Income).
Education – Take control ov what people read and listen to – take control of what children learn in school.
Religion – Remove the belief in God from the government and schools.
    8. Class Warfare – Divide the people into the wealthy and the poor. This will cause more discontent, and it will be easier to take (tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

Does this sound like what is happening to the UNITED STATES?

Alinsky merely simplified Vladimir Lenin’s original scheme for world conquest by communism under Russian rule. Stalin described his converts as “Useful Idiots”.

The Useful Idiots have destroyed every nation in which they have seized power and control. It is presently happening at an alarming rate in the U.S.

They were on their way until Trump arrived. We see how they are trying to impeach him with fake news. Even the GOP are trying to destroy him. What the NFL did could be a blessing and wake people up. Our Country is in God’s hands. I believe He gave us President Trump for a reason.

too bad its 25 years too late

      • Joanne Melear

I absolutely agree with you, Jerry!

    • Jerryb53

      Great post RosLyn.

    • Mavis Mason

Yes, so true, if only we could enlighten these useful idiots to the truth that they being duped! So disturbing to see family members among them!

  • Susan Schneider

I love that you respect the Flag , the Anthem, the American people. Thank you.

  • Glennfriend67

Dear NFL, my family has a long and distinguished history of serving this country that goes all the way back to its very beginning. No one in my family was drafted. Every last one of them signed up willingly to protect this country because they believed in what the USA stood for. You are a bunch of spoiled little brats whose stupid little protests have absolutely NOTHING to do with the First Amendment and EVERYTHING to to with shoving a political agenda down the American public’s collective throat. Your selfish, infantile antics are not only an insult to me, but an insult to every member of my family, present and past, who put his life on the line so you could show your “respect” by spitting on them. Well, I spit on you, you spoiled, selfish brats, and so does my family! We won’t waste any time or money on your “games” until you can grow up, admit you were wrong, and get off your sorry butts and pay tribute to this wonderful country that allowed you the opportunity to become multi-millionaires! Not to mention you need to have a little respect for the men and women that fought, bled, and died to keep the country this way! We’ll see how much you like being spoiled little brats when nobody buys your tickets anymore, and nobody tunes in on the TV. Not so much fun when there’s nobody to cheer you on, and no money in your pocket, is it?

    • Jerryb53

      Well said Glenn.

      • Glennfriend67

Thank you. I’m so very proud of my family. My brother is a decorated war hero from Gulf War I and Sarajevo. My dad is a highly decorated war hero from Vietnam. His medals are actually real- which is more than I can say for John Kerry! I would have followed them and been the first girl in my family in the military, except I had, and still have asthma. I was born in a military hospital, and grew up in the life. My blood runs navy and gold. I have been loyal to the same NFC team my whole life. When I caught them taking a knee I was LIVID! Our military are the ones that should be the millionaires, not these selfish, self centered children!

        • Jerryb53

I too come from a Military family. My mother was a Gunnery SGT in the Marines during WW2, one of the 1st women Marines. My Uncle fought the Japs on Iwo Jima. My father was a combat engineer and fought Rommel in North Africa then went to Italy to fight the Germans. He won a Purple Heart and 2 Bronze Stars. My other Uncle was in the Air Force. I has 4 cousins in the Military. The one currently serving is in Marines in Japan. My Grandfather was in France in WW1. I had a great Uncle who was in the Civil War. I’m glad my parents and relatives didn’t see this. They would be heart broken. The players are ungrateful spoiled bastards.

          • Glennfriend67

See, Jerry? You get it! My dad’s first cousin(I call him my uncle because he’s so much like an uncle to me) was part of an elite group of soldiers sent to Argentina during WWII to sabotage Hitler’s communication lines. He’s one of the few WWII vets still living. I know he’s furious about this, and there’s not a whole lot that can rile my Uncle Jim any more. My 4 times great grandfather was a pretty famous Colonel in the War of 1812, and his father, my 5 times great grandfather fought in the Revolution and was with General Washington at Valley Forge. These spoiled, selfish players are spitting on everything my family fought and died for-the opportunity for EVERYBODY to have a fair chance in this country! Not to be told to shut up if they didn’t agree with the party line, but to have it be ok if they diagreed with anything, I will NOT live in a communist country!

  • Wallace Klinck

Basically, I have minimal to no interest in professional sports and see them as little more than a continuation of the “bread and circuses” of the Roman Empire—funded and supported by powerful financial and commercial interests to keep the plebeians entertained, dumbed down and incapable of intelligent thought to ensure that they do not become any significant opposition to a corrupt financial, industrial and political Establishment which sends it young off to kill and be killed in foreign wars—which latter are especially profitable for that Establishment which centralizes power and wealth by the waste, want and war, which it instigates to make cannon fodder and debt-slaves of the larger uncomprehending and ideologically brain-washed population. We live in the Dispensation of the Anti-Christ. Unfortunately, the initiative for resistance is being seized as usual by de facto Marxist elements who have historically been linked to those very financial interests which subjugate the people. Large banking and communist/fascist regimes historically have been symbiotically related and mutually supportive. They both represent the policy of centralized power, and work in unison. They use their agents and/or unconscious dupes to accomplish their mischief—while Christians in general are too naïve and financially uninformed even to suspect, much less oppose, what is actually transpiring. Indeed, they celebrate their dead as heroes rather than as hapless and tragic victims.

I agree that the appropriate response to something with which one disagrees is to stop funding it, i.e., to contract financially out of the association. Genuine economic democracy can only prevail where consumers advance or withdraw their money-votes, alternatively, to support or withdraw support for the products of enterprise. Unfortunately, this becomes increasingly difficult to do under the current defective financial system where State expenditure is increasingly expanded in an attempt to compensate for an inherent increasing deficiency of consumer income relative to total costs and prices, in a capital-intensifying private economic sector where labour is being rapidly—and quite properly—replaced by technology, i.e, by non-labour factors of production.

    • Amy

These NFL players are handed free stuff from the beginning which creates brats who don’t care for America or anything but them. If you don’t like America so much go live in some other country. Maybe then you will see that freedom is nothing to sneeze at.

  • Luke Deak

Totally agree. These able bodied citizens that are NOT defending our country and are getting PAID to play a GAME should not disrespect the anthem of the country that gives them the right to do so. ALL lives matter you ungrateful divas. The NFL is not the warriors they PRETEND to be.

  • Deserttrek

the nfl has been threatening cities and states and sucking down taxpayer funds since the 90’s and earlier
the nfl kneels to every politically correct cause and has since the 90’s

now I see people upset over the anthem. to all who are I say “where have you been and the anthem is just a tiny part of the evil of the nfl”
no decent human being believes it is right to take from one person to line the pockets of another, but so called good people are fine when the nfl does
the subject is NOT the anthem, it is the corruption and use of taxpayer funds for a private business
they can stand , sing or do whatever, watching the nfl shows support for the media , the theft of taxpayer funds, and the support of politically correct causes

if you watch the nfl then do not complain about society or tax issues or corruption, because you are supporting this and have been for a long time

  • Richard Robie

Cancelled Direct TV NFL pkg. Won’t watch and leave places that may have them on! Bar last night had College re-runs on. Complimented the bar tender. She said her bar is boycotting NFL. Disgusting actions by a bunch of spoiled brats. And Politics and Race don’t have a damn thing to do with it. They need to all visit Walter Reid; go to Arlington National Cemetary and then attend at least three military funerals and watch a wife, daughter or son receive the folded flag

    • dave

Something to think about especially including the disrespect for our country and our flag and what it stands for and the NFL. People in this world need to wake up we were all given free will by our Lord and use it how we deem. But unfortunately we are our own worst enemies using our free will recklessly with hate greed and anger, when we should thank and praise our lord every day that he lets us wake up another day. Only prayers of praise and worshipping our lord and thanking him for our blessings everyday is what it is all about and helping others. The hurricanes, earthquakes and destruction is not by climate change but it is a wakeup call from our Lord. We need to be mindful of one another and continue to pray every minute we can and pray the rosary which is the strongest prayer we can say from our Blessed Mother. God Bless

      • Joanne Melear

Mr. Robie, I agree with you and of all the comments I have read, your is the first to make this point.

  • Steve Gastellum

As a proud parent of a new Marine, I feel it is a direct slap in his face for these spoiled, overpaid whiners to be disrespecting the flag and country my son is willing to put his life on the line for. I will be boycotting the NFL for the season. The NFL commissioner and the players are spineless brats who have no concept of sacrifice or service! They get big bucks for playing a child’s game, and desire praise and adoration from their fans for this? No thank you – I will praise and thank our service men and women in the uniformed services who put their lives on the line every day they don their uniform. Playing football is an inconsequential activity compared to the duties these other men and women perform keep us all safe. I used to enjoy watching the games as it served as a diversion from the chaos that is going on in the world around us – now it is just an undesired distraction of the left wing and I do not need to watch this too, when the news is filled with it. I do not need the NFL to make me feel whole. The NFL needs us to keep lucrative but I hope America will not tolerate the protests by making the NFL a political “football”. Once NFL revenue falls, maybe these dolts will change their ways. I love our country, warts and all. It is by far the best country to live in and I would challenge those who don’t to leave to live somewhere else, like North Korea, Russia, Venezuela, China or any other third world country. I bid you good riddance! We do not need you here!

    • Jerryb53

When I watch a football game I watch it for enjoyment. Not to see political activism on the TV before me. Seeing rich spoiled adults/children complain about the living conditions in America when they are making multi-millions a year makes me mad as heck.
Michael Bennett lied about what happened just like the “hands up don’t shoot” sleaze bag lied about Fergusen. The cop was fired because of these lies. No one is talking about the injustice he went through. Obama divided this Country which was his plan.

Getting back to football I will watch the College Games, they are more entertaining anyway.

    • Jim Nourse

As a Vietnam veteran, and served in the military for 27 years, I want to say that your son is very fortunate to have the parents he has. When we came back from Vietnam people spit on us if we were in uniform. That’s what I feel these spoiled dudes in the NFL are doing to our flag and our national heritage. It hurts to see this crap…I won’t be watching any NFL until the teams show honor and respect to our beautiful country. We aren’t perfect in this country, but this is not the way we get things done…through disrespecting others.

  • Frank

NLF, your are fired! As a family we will no longer attend, or watch NFL programs. Also, eliminated ESPN and NFL package. We have lost many members of our family to 911, and the past World Wars. They died for our country and our flag AND FREEDOM. This is directly against my family. The NFL should show respect for our country. If not, PLEASE LEAVE our country, we don’t want you either. Will not purchase NFL tickets nor will we purchase any NFL memorabilia. We have many veterans in our family…and they ALL feel the same.Your selfish, infantile antics are not only an insult to me, but an
insult to every member of my family, present and past, who put his life
on the line; so you should show some “RESPECT,” for all who died and have been injured defending our country and our flag.

  • Patricia Moze

It does not matter what the reason is, no one has the right to disrespect the Anthem , Flag and Country they call home, make a living out of and live an abundant life style…If it means so much to you to engage in this act of defiance then leave, or better still give back to communities in a way that would show you care, by meeting with and sharing with the people you so defend, look at both sides of a problem. Then get down on both knees and say a prayer that you can still stand with two legs.

  • James Cagle

I served 20 years for this country. Question I have is what exactly are they protesting. Seems to me that this whole thing started because to many black people were getting shot for committing crimes. I didn’t know this was unconstitutional. Now what’s the beef?

  • Rock DeSpain

I am not watching the NFL on TV…BUT, I think it would be MORE effective if we boycotted the advertisers. This would hit the owners and NFL in the pocketbook and get their attention real fast.

  • Perry

Been a long time fan of the Giants just cancelled my NFL Sunday ticket with DIRECTV demanded my money back which they did . Family and friends fought for our flag for our Freedom to disrespect the Flag is unbelievable. Hey why don’t they take it to North Korea Iraq Iran Syria And other Great countries and play there.

  • Mike Keating

As a veteran, and a retired firefighter, I see things a little differently. I agree with everyone who does not like what the players in the NFL are doing, but I have a positive solution. When I wasn’t working, I tried to make the area around me a better place by promoting an opportunity for everyone, no matter what race, nationality, religion, Etc, they were. I didn’t do anything outstanding or newsworthy, but I did try to do what I could. My recommendation to all of you NFL players, is to follow the example of a few of you and go out and change the world in a positive and loving way, rather than bring your day off concerns to your job. And yes, players, you have a job to do. And it is not to be political in your profession. I really believe that you are overpaid as most people do. However, it is what it is. You have the financial means to make a positive difference in your community. Why waste your time showing off on TV, when you could be quietly changing your world in a positive way, instead of complaining about what’s wrong.

  • B. Smid

The neomarxist Left politicises everything and then use this for their own politically correct agenda.
