Cleveland Right to Life held its tenth annual Bringing America Back to Life Convention on March 8-9 with about 1,500 activists attending over the course of the event. Molly Smith, the organization’s dynamic president, said that the conference was the best ever. The schedule was packed with powerful speakers like Alan Keyes, Star Parker and Ryan Anderson that energized those attending. Also speaking was Return to Order author John Horvat who gave a presentation titled “Overcoming the Pro-Death Culture: What It Will Take for Pro-lifers to Win,”

Mr. Horvat stressed the need to go beyond the significant victories that pro-lifers have won in the past, including the closure of 1,709 surgical abortion facilities since 1991.
“My purpose is not to convince you to win more battles; you know how to do that,” the author said. “We are gathered here to discuss what it will take to win the war.”

During his talk, Mr. Horvat discussed three simple points needed to win the war on today’s culture of death. The first thing was the need for pro-lifers to define and control the terms of the debate.

Secondly, those in the pro-life movement must stay engaged in the battle and not pay attention to the myths of those who say it cannot be done. They should resist the temptation to find some Benedict option that takes them away from the fight.
Finally, Mr. Horvat spoke of the need to trust in God and His miracles as the infallible means by which the movement will arrive at victory.
