Marquette University, a “Catholic” college, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, recently hosted a pro-homosexual “Lavender Graduation” on Friday, May 1. We need your help in protesting this scandal! “Lavender Graduations,” begun in 1995, are a separate commencement described as “an event celebrating LGBTQ [i.e., homosexual and “transgender”] … undergraduate and graduate students to acknowledge their achievements, contributions, and unique experiences…” (Source: Georgetown .edu) According to a description on Marquette University’s website:
“Lavender Celebration of Graduates is hosted by the Office of Inclusion and Belonging to celebrate undergraduate, graduate, and professional LGBTQ+ students and allies who are graduating from Marquette University. Lavender Celebration of Graduates 2026 will take place on Friday, May 1, 2026 from 5:00 PM – 6:15 PM in the Lunda and Henke Rooms in the Alumni Memorial Union (AMU).”

No institution (least of all a Catholic one) should have anything to do with celebrating homosexual sin, or confirming confused souls in their sinful behavior. This is in direct contradiction to the university’s Catholic mission, and above all to God’s morality.
Here is what the Catechism says about homosexuality:
“Basing itself on sacred Scripture, which presents homosexual acts as acts of grave depravity, tradition has always declared that homosexual acts are intrinsically disordered. They are contrary to the natural law. They close the sexual act to the gift of life. They do not proceed from a genuine affective and sexual complementarity. Under no circumstances can they be approved” (Catechism of the Catholic Church 2357).
Moreover, the Catholic Catechism on Homosexuality, by Fr. John Hardon, S.J., is even more clear:
46. What is the Church’s basic teaching on homosexuality?
The Church distinguishes between the homosexual condition or tendency and homosexual actions. Homosexual actions lack the essential and indispensable purpose. They are therefore intrinsically disordered. Consequently homosexual actions can never be approved (HP3).
47. Are homosexual actions morally evil by their very nature?
Yes, they are gravely sinful no matter how strong a person’s homosexual tendency may be (HP3).
These events only serve to confirm people in their sinful lifestyle, and causes grave scandal to the rest of society that a Catholic institution is deliberately scorning Church morality. And there is reason to hope. Even some of the most liberal colleges and universities are pulling back from the liberal policies. Most recently, Notre Dame was forced to cancel the promotion of a pro-abortion teacher after protests. With determination, action and prayer protests can help scrub this Catholic campus of its promotion of sin.
Please sign our petition, demanding that Marquette stop pushing homosexual sin and “transgender” confusion.
