A statue of Saint Michael is currently under fire at a public service center. Atheists and liberal judges are targeting two statues that were created for a new Public Safety Headquarters in Quincy, Massachusetts – one statue represents Saint Michael (patron of the police) and the other of Saint Florian (patron of firemen).
After outcry from liberals and atheists, a judge ruled October 2025 that the statues would not be allowed at the Public Safety Headquarters. Other groups (including first responders unions) are asking that the statue be allowed. The case is now being taken to the state’s supreme court. According to reports:
“A broad coalition of religious groups, First Amendment advocates, and first responders’ unions are calling on Massachusetts to protect statues of St. Michael the Archangel and St. Florian outside of a new public safety building in Quincy.
“In October [2025], a liberal activist judge blocked the city from going forward with its plans to erect those statues after a challenge by the left-wing and anti-religious ACLU…
“The legal battle has now reached the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court…”

We should not be deceived by how the left is framing the debate.
Some reports paint the problem as misspent funds, or lack of approval.
But consider the facts: when atheist groups like the ACLU and the Freedom From Religious Foundation are so insistent, it indicates it’s about more than about money. And when the first responders themselves are defending the image of Saint Michael, it speaks volumes.
This is not merely a legalistic fight. It’s a battle between two sides: an upright, virtuous idea of society on one side and a sterile, ignoble secularism on the other. At heart, it’s a fight over the notions of right and wrong, good and evil. It is a fight of Godliness against atheism.
Please sign our petition to the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, asking that Saint Michael be allowed to stand in the Public Safety Headquarters in Quincy.
