Protest! Catholic Charities promotes Planned Parenthood event!

Catholic Charities of Central New Mexico (CCASFNM) has been promoting events sponsored by Planned Parenthood, the notorious abortion provider. More shockingly, CCASFNM has also helped promote an array of other events that are in direct contrast to Church teaching. This includes sponsoring pro-homosexual and “transgender” events and venues!

Added to this, reports state that CCASFMN’s site provided a document which lists groups such as Planned Parenthood, Transgender Resource Center of New Mexico, and Equality New Mexico (a pro-homosexual group) as resources. According to reports:

“…Elisa Martinez of the New Mexico Alliance for Life discovered that the Catholic Charities of Central New Mexico (CCASFNM) promoted a Planned Parenthood-sponsored event called the ‘Lavender Prom‘ as well as the Transgender Day of Visibility. Martinez reported:

“On Holy Tuesday [2026], the organization [CCASFNM] promoted ‘Trans Day of Visibility.’ More alarmingly, the next day on Holy Wednesday, it promoted a Planned Parenthood sponsored program of TeenMPower, a ‘Lavender Prom’ event aimed at youth under 18 to intermingle with adults, described as ‘teens and allies.’

“The event encourages participation across a broad age range of young teens with adults offering ‘free rapid HIV testing’ during the event. In fact, the 2024 Lavender Prom featured 4-5 grown adult males and drag performers attending Planned Parenthood’s TeenMPower event.”

A Catholic organization should have nothing to do with the nation’s largest abortion provider. Moreover, promoting unnatural vice runs contrary to CCASFNM’s Catholic identity.

This is a scandal to the Faithful, and a disservice to the souls Catholic Charities claims to help. Most importantly, this is an affront against God, Who is offended that organizations should use the Church’s name to aid in normalizing abortion and homosexual sin.

Please sign our petition, demanding that Catholic Charities in Santa Fe formally distance itself from groups that directly contradict Church Law.

I am appalled to learn that Catholic Charities in Santa Fe (CCASFNM) has promoted events and encouraged the use of pro-abortion and pro-homosexual organizations.

Among other things, reports indicate that CCASFNM promoted the pro-abortion organization, Planned Parenthood, and helped sponsor pro-homosexual groups and events.

This is contrary to any organization which uses the name "Catholic," and is a serious scandal to the public.

Above all, this is a serious offense against God, as it abuses the Church's name to promote causes contrary to His Order and Commandments.

I respectfully urge you to publicly distance yourself from all pro-abortion and pro-homosexual organizations, and apologize for your previous association with them.
