An online film series was released on May 19, 2026 called Falling, and centers around an illicit relationship between a priest and a nun. It is currently hosted from the U.K.’s Channel 4 website, available for streaming. As the name of the series implies, the “soap opera” relates the story of a priest, David, who falls in love with a nun, Anna – ultimately leading both to fall into sin. Advertisement of the series depict the two characters in a stained glass window embracing each other. The first season was released with 6 episodes. According to reports:
“Falling stars Keeley Hawes as devoted nun Anna, and Paapa Essiedu as David, a priest with a complicated past…
“The unlikely couple are ‘married’ to god [sic], and … are forced to confront their relationship with the vows they took and the lives they thought they wanted, when they fall in love.”

This is a vicious attack against the religious life of priests and nuns, trivializing their lifestyle for the sake of “entertainment.”
To understand how bad this is, we must know what is under attack. The priest is called to dedicate his life to offer the Holy Sacrifice of Calvary and aid the Faithful by providing the Sacraments. Part of his sacrifice is chastity. The religious life of a nun likewise involves dedication to God by sacrificing her will and material goods to follow God with poverty, chastity and obedience.
These religious lifestyles represent everything contrary to the maxims of the present immorality of the world, one that cannot tolerate the ideals of purity, selfless dedication and sacrifice. Therefore, this series is a serious attack against God, virtue, and those especially dedicated to God’s service.
