Every summer, TFP Student Action volunteers pack their bags, pile into 15-passenger vans, and embark on multi-week caravans across America. Along the way, they bring the fight for moral values to high-traffic areas by praying, protesting and holding large signs that confront issues like procured abortion, socialism, homosexual sin and Satanism.
To commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States, one caravan decided to do something a little bit different. During the second half of July, this group of young men set out to promote the greatest remedy for all of these sins: devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.
The message inscribed on the rosary rally banner they brought with them says it all:
“Sacred Heart of Jesus, bless America. Deliver us from the sins of Abortion, Socialism, Satanism & LGBT Ideology.”

This banner was unraveled at dozens of busy intersections across eight US states: Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois and Michigan.
But not only was this message of conversion brought to the public square – it was brought directly inside the state capitol buildings of each state they visited.
For the TFP caravans, this was a first. Back in 2020, at the height of the COVID lockdowns, several TFP caravans held rosary rallies outside of all 50 state capitol buildings. However, venturing inside remained uncharted territory.
Recent events made the need to bring Our Lord into the buildings evident. The majority of the Midwest’s capitol buildings have scandalously allowed explicitly Satanic events or displays.
Here are a few harrowing examples:
- In Minnesota, The Satanic Temple placed a pro-abortion plaque honoring Governor Tim Walz.
- In Illinois, the Satanists were permitted to place a “baby Baphomet” underneath the capitol rotunda. This demon was put on display during Christmastime and was blasphemously depicted lying in a manger.
- The Kansas Statehouse went so far as to allow a Satanic Black Mass to take place on its grounds.
In fact, only two of the capitol buildings this caravan visited have not yet embraced public Satanism of some sort.
This sinister reality made the mission clear. This caravan needed to reconquer these state capitol buildings for Christ.
Exorcistic Calm Disarms the Devil
The focal point of each procession was a beautiful marble statue of the Sacred Heart, specially made for the caravan. TFP volunteers carried the statue on their shoulders through the capitol buildings while praying the Holy Rosary aloud.
Each rosary was offered to honor the Sacred Heart of Jesus, to ask for America’s conversion on her 250th birthday and to make reparation for the many sins committed as a nation. These intentions made it clear that the mission was not just a feel-good thing. It was a solemn act with serious intentions.
Following each rosary, the Litany to the Sacred Heart of Jesus was sung in Latin. This was a way of proclaiming the glories and perfections of Our Lord’s Most Sacred Heart to the public.
During each procession, it almost seemed as if the calm was exorcistic. In these places where the devil was once enshrined, the serenity of prayer triumphed. The contrast was striking, and the grace visibly touched many of those who witnessed the procession.

Many smiled joyfully and joined in reciting the rosary, while others watched in silent awe. Even those who were visibly opposed to the caravan’s message appeared confounded and unsure how to react. By the grace of God, all eight rosary processions were held without a single disruption.
After singing the Salve Regina, the procession would conclude with three energetic proclamations of:
“Long live Christ the King!”
This simple phrase reminded lawmakers and tourists alike that America was—and always will be—one nation under God.
Why the Sacred Heart of Jesus?
Providence has never abandoned the faithful. Just as God raised up saints to combat the heresies and errors of past ages, He has also provided a devotion especially suited to confronting the revolutionary spirit of the times: the devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus.

This devotion is especially vital for Americans today as the nation confronts crises on every front—political, social and, above all, moral.
The growing popularity of Sacred Heart billboards across the country in the month of June demonstrates that Americans are deeply drawn to this devotion. What figure could better call the nation back from the brink of moral collapse?
The Sacred Heart is a representation of infinite mercy and patience, yet also of a Heart wounded, offended and outraged by the sins of the nation. It is the image of the Redeemer instructing all sinners to “go, and sin no more.” America’s conversion ultimately depends upon answering that call.
That is why TFP in the Midwest undertook this special Sacred Heart caravan. By carrying the image of the Sacred Heart through America’s state capitols and into her public squares, these young men proclaimed that the answer to our nation’s deepest crisis is not merely political. It is spiritual.
In these troubled times, there is no surer refuge than the Sacred Heart of Jesus. May His Divine Heart reign once again over this beloved country.
O Sacred Heart of Jesus, make America’s heart like unto Thine!
