A leading prelate of the Holy Catholic Church will headline a special event at St. Louis de Montfort Academy. His Eminence Cardinal Raymond Leo Burke will bless the Academy’s newly completed East Wing during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on April 25, 2026.
The ceremony coincides with the Academy’s 30th anniversary, bringing together students, families, alumni, and guests.
Also attending will be Prince Bertrand of Orléans-Braganza, Head of the Imperial House of Brazil and a longtime advocate of traditional chivalry-focused education for boys. For the school community, the anticipated presence of both Cardinal Burke and Prince Bertrand is already causing joy and encouragement.
From Possibility to Reality
Since its founding in 1995, St. Louis de Montfort Academy has pursued a singular mission: to form boys into men who love truth, practice virtue, and courageously defend the Faith. Inspired by the spirituality of St. Louis de Montfort and the life-long example of Prof. Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira, the Academy combines academics, spiritual growth, and character formation. What sets the Academy apart from other schools is its focus on chivalry and saintly role models that set a high bar and uplift the soul.
The completion of the new East Wing is the fruit of years of prayer, sacrifice, and generosity from supporters and parents who believe deeply in this mission.
The 10,000-square-foot addition will allow the school to welcome more students seeking an education steeped in tradition. But for the faculty and families of the Academy, the significance of the new building goes far beyond bricks and mortar.
Why America Must Reject Isolationism and Its Dangers
“This new building is a real blessing,” said Headmaster Ted Huereña. “It is about forming young men who know what is true, love what is good, and have the courage to defend the Faith in a hostile world.”

A School Built to Form Heroes
The Academy was founded with the conviction that education must do more than prepare students for careers. It must form character, develop strong convictions, and highlight fidelity to the Church.
Students are encouraged to seek excellence in study, discipline in daily life, devotion to Our Lady, and fidelity to the Magisterium of the Holy Catholic Church. The goal is nothing less than the formation of Soldiers of Christ under the banner of Mary Most Holy.

As Mr. Huereña explains:
“The world today does not need more men who simply want a good salary. It needs men with moral courage, willing to fight the good fight. At the Academy, we strive to form boys who will become defenders of the Faith, leaders in society, and examples of virtue wherever Providence puts them.”
A Day of Celebration
The April 25 celebration will include:
- The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass celebrated by Cardinal Burke
- A formal ribbon-cutting and blessing of the new building
- A reception for benefactors and visiting dignitaries
- A presentation on the Academy’s mission and future
- A musical performance by Academy students
- A Rosary procession, entrusting the Academy to Our Lady
For many who have supported the school over the past three decades, the ceremony will be a moment of gratitude to Our Lady for the many graces received.
Looking Toward the Future
As the ribbon is cut and the doors of the new East Wing open for the first time, St. Louis de Montfort Academy will not simply be celebrating a building. It will be celebrating the noble mission that has guided the school since its earliest days.
It will be a time to ask God to restore the soul of America, and motivate a new generation of young men to pick up their Cross and follow Him; men ready to rebuild a Christian culture in a world that urgently requires it.
“Every generation must decide whether it will surrender to darkness or stand for the light of Christ,” said Mr. Huereña. “Our task at the Academy is to form the young men who will take a bold stand for the good, the true, and the beautiful.”
On April 25, the Academy will open its doors not only to a new building, but to a new generation of young men called to conquer the darkness of the present world with the victorious light of Christ.
