On November 3, the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family, and Property (TFP) held a rally of reparation and protest in Ottumwa, Iowa, where a member of the Satanic Temple opened the city council meeting with a Satanic invocation.

The mission was clear: the rally protested the inaction of the council, made reparation to God, showed that Satan has no rights, and aroused Americans to oppose the mainstreaming of Satanism in the United States.

Not the First Time

This was not the first time such an invocation was invoked. The October city council meeting in Ottumwa was opened with a Satanic invocation. The shock of the first event aroused the locals and even made national news. However, many more were shocked that the same man was allowed to open the November meeting, which falls on election day. In response to this news, the American TFP quickly organized a petition that garnered 4,795 signatures, asking the mayor to stop this invocation. The TFP also organized a rally of reparation for Election Day outside the city hall in Ottumwa.

The Rally

As the Satanist prepared his invocation from Hell, faithful Catholics joined ranks outside the building, calling on Saint Michael and Our Lady to send the Holy Angels to cast the demons to Hell and prevent the vile invocation from having any effect. Starting the rally with a hymn to Our Lady, accompanied by bagpipes, the participants raised their minds to Heaven and put on the spiritual armor of God. Rain had been pouring earlier, but the clouds cleared before the rally, allowing for a full and public display of the rally of reparation.

The Rosary was prayed, and in between decades, slogans were given to remind those listening that Satanism is not an American value. One slogan went, “Satanism is anti-religion: Religion is anti-satan. We protest the Satanic invocation happening here. God blesses America. Satan curses it.” The Satanists claim that they have a constitutional right to give their invocation, but one slogan showed how false that claim is. “The Constitution protects God-given rights. Satanism wants to destroy these rights. America is one nation under God.”

One participant in the rally pointed out that the Satanists had already lost. “Our Lady Conquered today! The Satanists are already defeated.” He said.

Nothing came from the Satanists except for cries of “Hail Satan” as they entered the city hall. Their lack of reaction to the rally reflected well the movement as a whole, which only thrives on the inaction of the good. Overall, the scene was a battle in the heavens. Angels versus demons were involved in the fight for the United States to remain one nation under God.

Rex Teodosio, who was leading the rally, said, “We as Catholics need to stand strong. We need to rise to the occasion and make reparation for the grave sin that is being committed here. Our Lord said, ‘Watch and pray,’ and that is exactly what we are doing out here.”

Locals Take a Stand

Many locals attending the city council meeting were against the invocation. As they passed, some thanked those praying at the rally and said they would be praying inside during the meeting. Many were horrified that a Satanic invocation was happening in their town. One local said “I am from California and this kind of stuff is sadly normal but here, I never thought that it would happen here.”

One man during the invocation drowned out the Satanist by saying the Lord’s Prayer, causing the police to request that he leave the meeting, which he did on his own. The message was clear: the locals did not want Satanism.

God is Watching

In these tragic times when Satanism raises its evil head over and over again, God is watching His faithful children to see how they will defend His name. The Satanic invocation was something horrible but God was consoled seeing that there are those who stand up and confront this evil.

Catholics must seek to give as much glory as possible to God by smashing the head of Satan wherever it lurks. May Our Lady intercede for the United States that it wakes up to the Satanic snake that slithers into the public squares and council meetings.
