The award-winning book Return to Order has been translated into Portuguese. Published by the American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP), the translation of the work, which describes organic Christian society, is now available in e-book format and available on Amazon’s various sites with the title Retorno Á Ordem: De uma Economia Frenética a uma Sociedade Orgânica Crista.
The political and social situations in Brazil and the United States have more in common than most people realize. Both countries share common roots in the Christian faith and culture. Each has been involved in the fight against Marxist ideas for over a century.
“The Portuguese translation of Return to Order marks a new phase in our outreach beyond audiences in the United States,” says author John Horvat II. “In a sense, the publication of the Portuguese edition of Return to Order is a return to its origins. The ideas presented in the book are based on those that I learned from the Brazilian TFP’s founder, Professor Plinio Corrêa de Oliveira. For many years, I have searched for the opportunity to lay out these ideas in the language in which I first heard them.”
“While written for an American audience, I know that the topics discussed in Return to Order also apply to Brazil,” Mr. Horvat commented. “My Brazilian friends tell me that they faced the same problems.”
Return to Order is the fruit of over twenty years of research and observation. Mr. Horvat draws from a wide variety of historical and philosophical sources of information, always relying on the social teachings of the Catholic Church. He brilliantly uses those ideas to craft a message that seamlessly makes the connections between the economy, faith and moral values.
The principles of Return to Order have been endorsed by the Prince Imperial of Brazil, Prince Bertrand of Orleans-Braganza. “Return to Order is original and penetrating. John Horvat has given us a much-needed analysis of what went wrong with modern society and an inspired vision for where we need to go. Inside the chaos of our days, the book is a welcome beacon that helps us get our bearings and set us on the path to true order.”
There are already many American editions of Return to Order: From a Frenzied Economy to an Organic Christian Society—Where We’ve Been, How We Got Here and Where We Need to Go. Circulation of hardcover, softcover, workbook, audiobook, and e-book formats of the book have just reached the 344,000 copy mark. In addition, the book has received endorsements from leading academic, political and religious leaders.
John Horvat is also vice president of The American Society for the Defense of Tradition, Family and Property (TFP). He has presented his book to audiences in more than 100 cities in America, Europe and South America. He has given over 500 media interviews since Return to Order was first released in 2013. He has also written hundreds of articles and op-eds that have appeared worldwide, including in The Wall Street Journal, The Christian Post, The Washington Times, Crisis Magazine, C-SPAN, American Thinker, The Stream and LifeSiteNews. His analysis of political and social developments are published regularly on www.returntoorder.org and form the centerpiece of the weekly Return to Order Moment podcast.

“One of my most cherished hopes is that Return to Order will play a part in restoring Christian civilization,” Mr. Horvat concludes. “Just as Brazil was the birthplace of Professor Plinio, it could well be the spring from which a new – and yet traditional – culture will spring.”
