If there is one thing that keeps order in society, it is the police’s protective presence. The police are always there when crime and disorder strikes. To ensure that this presence continues, Return to Order is launching a special Support Your Police campaign nationwide.
“We are asking our friends and activist to hold Rosary Rallies of support in front of police stations everywhere,” says John Horvat, Return to Order author and director of the campaign. “The police are under such pressure that they need to see our support in the public square.”
The recent riots have tried to turn the public against the police. Violent activists are blaming the police for violence and brutality. They are calling for emptying the prisons and defunding police departments. These measures will only make matters worse but catapult the nation into anarchy and chaos. They produce the ideal conditions for leftist revolutionary action.
The violence is also threatening the lives of officers. Over 700 police officers were injured since communists, socialists, and anarchists swelled the ranks of anti-police riots across America. Rioters murdered David Dorn, a 77-year-old retired black St. Louis police captain, as he investigated a burglar alarm in a pawnshop.
The left is doing everything possible to demoralize the police by urging people to insult and reject them. Weak politicians are withdrawing support for police departments and depriving them of the means to defend their cities. The media are especially critical of the police and spread the false narrative that all police practice brutality.
In the face of this offensive, Americans need to show their support. The Return to Order initiative is asking its friends and supporters to sign up to be Rally Captains. The captains receive a beautiful free Saint Michael rally banner. The banner reads: Saint Michael protect our police so they can protect us!” Saint Michael is the patron saint of law enforcement officers.
The captains will gather together with family and friends in front of local police stations and pray the rosary and other prayers. Return to Order will be organizing hundreds of these Rosary Rallies for the police throughout the next weeks and months across the country.
The police have responded enthusiastically to the rallies that have already been held. Rally captains report that the police express surprise and emotion upon seeing fellow citizens supporting them. One police chief brought out bottled water. Others shake hands in appreciation. At one rally, police saw how the rosary put a few anti-police protesters to flight.
These special Rosary Rallies for police are powerful weapons that can inspire police to protect the honest citizenry and quell the unrest, riots and killings that threaten to unravel society. It is not enough to pray for the police alone at home in silence. The police need public prayer and support.
“We cannot sit on the sidelines and do nothing as chaos, fear and violence spreads, and police officers are treated like criminals!” commented Mr. Horvat. “The root cause of this chaos is that we have strayed from God and His Holy Law. We need a return to order.”
