Over the last decade, Canada has become ever more like a dystopian Marxist state and less like a free Western country. Its leaders seem to be faithfully following a maxim of Joseph Stalin, “Ideas are more powerful than guns.”
Indeed, ideas are powerful, and Canadian officials are taking care that contrary ideas do not circulate. They are focused on one particular idea that is so dangerous that if you spread it, you might be charged with a hate crime and fined three-quarters of a million dollars.
What’s the Idea?
The terrifying idea is that there are only two sexes: male or female. Individuals cannot change their sexes, no matter how much makeup, hormones or mutilating operations they go through.
On February 18, the Human Rights Tribunal of British Columbia issued a ruling against Mr. Barry Neufeld, a former school trustee for Chilliwack, British Columbia.
He was ordered to pay $750,000, which the tribunal claimed was “reasonable, if not modest.” This will be paid to the Chilliwack Teachers’ Association for hateful comments over five years to LGBT teachers.
What made it worse was that some of Mr. Neufeld’s supposedly hateful comments were criticizing an LGBT school trustee who was posting immoral ‘science’ videos online.
“A Form of Existential Denial”
The verdict of the British Columbia Human Rights Tribunal against Mr. Neufeld was truly disturbing.
The tribunal declared that: “If a person elects not to ‘believe’ that gender identity is separate from sex assigned at birth, then they do not ‘believe’ in transpeople. This is a form of existential denial.”
The tribunal added that “A person does not need to believe in Christianity to accept that another person is Christian. However, to accept that a person is transgender, one must accept that their gender identity is different than their sex assigned at birth.”
The tribunal’s claim is shocking and dangerous. The tribunal has made itself a moral authority on what it means to be a human being. In doing so, it denies one of the most basic truths about a human being: a person is either male or female. The lie of transgenderism has been turning into a truth that cannot be questioned. Such affirmations often result in bodily mutilation and mental devastation.
Affirming a Lie Never Works
Many in the Canadian medical establishment affirm that “transitioning” operations are needed to assure the physical and mental health of the patient.
The facts are proving the opposite. Just having the operations does not guarantee the stability of the patient. Only a few weeks ago, in the same province of British Columbia, a suicidal “transgender” shooter, Jesse Strang, who identified as a woman, shot up a school and killed 8 people, including his own mother, who had supported his “transition.” This was the largest school shooting in Canadian history.
Another Attack on the Truth by the Quebec Human Rights Tribunal
Persecution against those who affirm there are only two sexes is also happening in French Canada.
In Quebec, the Human Rights Tribunal fined a hair salon business $500 because it ‘only’ offered two options for people booking services on its online form: male or female.
“This is insane and Orwellian”
There has been some pushback over the BC Human Rights Tribunal’s decision. The leader of Canada’s Progressive Conservative Party, Pierre Poilievre, in a statement on X, described the decision as “insane and Orwellian.”
Mr. Poilievre noted that “Governments and kangaroo courts now chill freedom of expression instead of fighting crime, censoring people who dare to speak their minds. Just ask the B.C. school board trustee who got slapped with a $750,000 fine for saying there are two genders.”
May God protect Canada and all other countries that are suffering under these dangerous errors.
